Metabolism is a complex system that regulates the balance between food intake and food utilization. In particular, the digestive tract, with its organs such as the gastrointestinal tract, the liver and pancreas, as well as fatty and muscle tissue, blood circulation and also the brain are involved in metabolic control. Metabolic diseases can have various causes.
